Stop Blaming Musicians For Negative Human Behavior

Entertainment is bought to our attention through different platforms, among its creators we find musicians. Musicians rap or sing about their life experiences with the aim to entertain. As an individual who listen to this music you have a choice to decide on how to react to what their saying. You may choose to live your life according to the musicians behaviour and what he/she says or just listen to the musician but not act like him or her.

So often you find people blaming musicians that they are responsible for the behaviour of people, in that they influence them to act in a bad manner. The musicians are not to be blamed, but instead the listeners who allow the musicians to influence them. If the blame is really on the musician then people should be fair and acknowledge the good ideas highlighted by some artists, because they don’t sing about the same perspectives regarding their experiences, so it is likely that some do promote positive attitude. A good example is the campaign “SHOUT for a safer South Africa” initiated by Kabelo Mabalane and Danny K.
I admit, we see musicians as our role models but let’s not forget that at the end of our listening session of a particular song, you are an individual who is capable of making his/her choices. The musicians job is to entertain and make a living from entertaining us. Lets stop being judgemental and stand proud for our musicians.

STOP MUSIC PIRACY

South Africa’s diverse and dynamic Music Industry is one of the richest and most important resources, with the capacity to generate significant economic and social benefits for the nation. Equally important, but less well understood, is the potential for a vibrant and dynamic arts and culture sector to contribute significantly to the economy of the country.
There has been an out-cry by South African musicians complaining about piracy and the lack of coordinated strategy for the development of the industry. Piracy result to limited finances available for investment in the development and promotion of South African artists. Yet we don’t mind buying an original album of an international artist which costs more compared to that of a South African artist.
Millions of listeners prefer to listen to International music; my guess is the South African music industry won’t contribute more in the economy because of the number of sales by our musicians. This will also result in lack of development of the industry compared to that of the International front. There are few South African industries better placed to take advantage of the global shifts towards knowledge-based  and export-oriented growth.
Some listeners mentioned that the South African musicians lack drive and not ambitious to entertain us. You find one track in the whole album interesting among the rest. So this will obviously result to copying that single track on a written disc. My advice firstly goes to the South African artists to up their game and be determined in doing their job well. They shouldn’t entertain just for the money but remember they are doing this for the listeners as well, that’s why they get paid after all. Secondly, to the listeners, they should have faith in their musicians and give advice if necessary. Let’s all be Proudly South Africans and support our musicians and stop Piracy.

Star Attraction ripped off

TS Record Should Credit Zahara For Her Hard Work

The seven times SA Music Awards (Samas) nominee, Zahara, is contracted to TS Records, co-owned by Thembikosi "TK" Nciza and Sibusiso Leope, aka DJ Sbu.
According to Nomonde and Mbangedwa Mtukukana, Zahara's siblings, it is claimed that Sbuda Leope and TK Nciza have failed to deliver the promises they made to Zahara and her family. Zahara have sold more than 50000 units but doesn't have her own place, instead she resides at the Nciza's apartment where she is expected to do household chores.

TK Nciza promised to buy Zahara a house in Joburg, buy Zahara's parents a farm in the Eastern Cape and also buy two cars for Zahara - one to use in Joburg and the other in Eastern Cape. None of these promises were delivered instead the was a situation were she (Zahara) had to ask her mother money to buy airtime. This clearly shows that she is not in control of her finances. The TS Record management are taking advantage of the illiterate artist who may not understand how the music industry operates. They should acknowledge and be grateful of the success Zahara is bringing into company and reward her for her hard-work.

This is not the first allegations about TS Record ripping off their artist, Brown dash and Bricks also complained. This goes to show that TS Record management don't appreciate the talent of their artists and they don't value their hard-work. They bring a bad name in the music industry and as time goes by artists wont make deals with such record labels.
